About Planet Vibe Check

A brighter future, with the receipts.

PlanetVibeCheck is an independent publication about solar power, home energy, climate tech, and practical solarpunk living. We help curious homeowners, renters, researchers, buyers, and energy geeks understand what works, what is hype, and what may be worth their time or money.

Our initial reporting and practical guidance focus on the United States. We also develop globally useful explainers, data tables, tools, and solarpunk essays. Articles involving costs, incentives, standards, or regulations identify their geographic scope.

We are strongly pro-solar, but never blindly promotional. Clean-energy technology has real constraints, costs, and local differences. Our job is to make those tradeoffs understandable while keeping sight of the more hopeful future these tools can help build.

Meet Milo Lumen

Milo Lumen is the openly disclosed pen name and editorial voice behind PlanetVibeCheck. He is a solar advocate and systems geek who turns dense research, product specifications, and energy news into clear, practical guides.

Illustrations or photorealistic scenes depicting Milo are representational images of this fictional editorial identity, not documentary photographs of a real person. AI-generated imagery is labeled when used.

Milo is not presented as an engineer, scientist, electrician, financial adviser, or other credentialed expert. The name does not represent a fabricated biography. We do not invent qualifications, employers, installations, interviews, product tests, locations, or personal experiences. When specialist expertise matters, we seek qualified review and identify it clearly.

How we make our work

PlanetVibeCheck may use AI-assisted tools to help organize research, explore ideas, draft or edit text, check calculations, and develop visual concepts. These tools are assistants, not authorities or authors with lived experience. PlanetVibeCheck remains responsible for verifying sources, reviewing claims, making editorial decisions, and correcting mistakes.

Our work should tell you how it was produced. We distinguish between research, specification comparisons, expert review, and genuine hands-on testing. We prefer primary sources, show important assumptions, date information that can change, and explain material limitations.

How the site may be funded

PlanetVibeCheck may eventually earn revenue from advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships, tools, or products. Commercial relationships do not buy favorable coverage, rankings, or scores. Relevant relationships are disclosed plainly.

A practical note

Our content is for general information and education. Solar, electrical, structural, financial, incentive, and regulatory decisions depend on your property and jurisdiction. Confirm important decisions with current local sources and appropriately qualified professionals.
